My girls turned 8 last week!!! They had their birthday party at Animal Rescue Foundation, where we adopted our cat Sherry last summer. In honor of her, all of the kitties at the the shelter, and all of the doggies too, the girls wanted a Cat and Dog Themed Birthday Party. Their party was simple but I couldn’t resist making some signs for the food table, stickers, cake banner, and thank you cards. Today I’m sharing them as free printables for you to use!
The birthday party at Animal Rescue Foundation was awesome. The first 90 minutes consisted of a tour and activities about the dogs and cats at the shelter, how to interact with dogs and cats, and how to take care of your pet. Then we headed to a room for cake and snacks. It was great that the entertainment for the kids was provided, and it was interesting, interactive, and educational. All I had to do was provide snacks, cake, and decorations. We got the cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes…mmmm! As usual, I got the girls their own little cake, so they could each have their own 8 candle on it (plus they could pick their own special flavor – must they share everything?!). For the guests’ cake, I created a Happy Birthday Banner. The skewers are simply taped to the back.
Feel free to save the banner image below. You can cut it out by hand or use Cricut Print Then Cut like I did. It’s also available as a PDF (see below).
The snacks were all foods that Sherry looves, or at least she wishes she could have! Each snack had a label, that you can fold in half so it will stand up on your table. I found little bird shaped cheese crackers at Target, and combined them with gummy fish candies for “Delicious Birdies and Fishies”. I decided to pre-package the birdies and fishies into individual bags and made some cat stickers to go with them. I used my 2-inch hole punch to cut out the rounds, and ran them through my Xyron to add adhesive to the back.
We also had “Yummy Mouse Ears and Rat Tails” (chocolate-dipped pretzel twists and sticks) as well as “Mmm Ham and Cheese!” (cheese, ham, and crackers) to commemorate Sherry’s thievery of my sandwiches.
Here are the round labels in four colors (also available in PDF). You can also cut these out in Cricut Print Then Cut.
For drinks, I labeled it the “Fire Hydrant”! I just handed out individual juices and waters, but how cute would it be to use one of those big drink dispensers and make that one big fire hydrant! I was too lazy to do that though. But do you like the paw print paper? That’s wrapping paper from the dollar store that I used to cover the food table.
As before, feel free to save the image below or print out the PDF. Oh, the reason why there’s so much space over the food label above and the fire hydrant label below is I allow for folding it in half to stand up so that’s just going to be extra paper.
And finally, Thank You Notes. I like to make them “notes” rather than folding cards. I’ve done that since my wedding. I do not have the note cards themselves as a PDF, as it’s easier to print them this way. First, save the image below.
Then just use your paper cutter to cut them out and they’re ready for writing. Sophie was the smartie pants who added the cat body to the dog head, and the dog body to the cat head.
Print the PDF below or you can also save the banner image below to make your own cards or make them into stickers. They’d be cute on a goodie bag.
Here’s a link to all of the PDFs mentioned above. They’re in a folder in Google Drive. Let me know if you have any problems with it!
Here’s how my Cat and Dog balloons turned out!
When I get the chance, I will share the Cricut Cut Files for this banner as well as our invitations.
