Four years ago, I created these Hogs and Kisses Valentines for my girls, and they’ve remained one of my favorite printables. Has it been four years already?! They were in preschool! Today, I’ve channeled those piggies to create my Hogs and Kisses Valentine’s Day Mason Jars, which would make a fun and punny gift for Valentine’s Day for both kids and adults!
Hogs and Kisses Valentine’s Day Mason Jars
Supplies (contains affiliate links to my favorites)
- Mason Jar
- Rubbing alcohol
- Paint brushes
- White chalk paint (for primer)
- Pink acrylic paint
- Cricut Explore (optional)
- Xyron 1.5-inch Create-A-Sticker
Rub your mason jar with rubbing alcohol. This will clean the surface and help the paint stick better. Then paint the entire surface with chalk paint, to act as a primer (you can also use white spray primer or white acrylic paint). After the primer has dried, paint over it with pink acrylic paint. Allow to dry between coats.
Now cut out your shapes for the pig face. Basically, it’s a bunch of ovals, triangles, and hearts. The hearts, ovals, and triangles were all about 3/4 inches long. The snout was about 2 inches long. You can use punches, cut them out by hand, or use a die-cutter. I used my Cricut Explore. Click here to find my Cricut Design Space file that you’re free to use. I’ve set the ears and snout to be the same color.
I ran the shapes through my Xyron.
And I adhered them to the jars.
I filled the jars with hugs and kisses, of course. Then I added my Hogs and Kisses printable to the top of one, and a simple heart to the other (for that one, I tied on the printable as a tag).
I of course had to make two for my girls, but one has to be slightly different with the different twine and different placement of the tag.
My Hogs and Kisses Valentine’s Day Mason Jars are a part of the Mason Jar Monday Blog Hop, which happens on the third Monday of each month. Each month has a different theme…this month’s was Valentine’s Day!
