I’m definitely in the mood for Easter and Spring! I couldn’t wait to craft this Paper Flower Easter Wreath.
Paper Flower Easter Wreath
- DCWV Mini Album Stack
- DCWV DIY Flowers Stack
- Xyron 5-inch Creative Station with Permanent Adhesive Cartridge
- Foam Easter eggs
- Embroidery hoop
- Hot glue
- Craft foam
- Wood dowel
I used the Magnolia template from the DCWV DIY Flowers Stack to make three flowers. For two of them, I hot glued three eggs to the center.
To create the little sign, I used a clear sticker from the DCWV Mini Album Stack plus some papers. I liked the owl frame but didn’t want to use the owl, so I traced it onto another paper from the stack and cut it out as the frame.
I ran everything through my Xyron Creative Station.
But as I began layering everything, I decided to do something different with the saying.
I wanted to give it some dimension so I made my own foam tape with my Xyron. I’ve done it before but here’s a quick how-to again! First, cut three pieces of craft foam. Then, run all three through the Xyron. Cut one piece out separately, still on the paper backing, and run it through the Xyron again, but upside down so the adhesive sticks to the other side (so one piece is sticky on both sides).
I stacked all three pieces to the back of the saying piece. Love how it pops out!
Then I decided to add a juxtaposed frame to the back of the sign. I cut out another piece in the same shape. But, I don’t wait to add adhesive to the entire piece because it will be sticking out. So I layered some scrap paper over the parts I don’t want adhesive. Then I carefully turned it upside down and ran it through the Xyron. So, there will be no adhesive on the top and side edges of the green frame.
Time to assemble the wreath! I hot glued a dowel going diagonally along one side of the embroidery hoop, and hot glued the sign to the top. Then I hot glued the flowers along the bottom edge.
All done! I love the colors of the all different papers!
Thank you Xyron and DCWV for the pretty papers and trusty adhesives to make my Paper Flower Easter Wreath! Be sure to Like Xyron on Facebook to see what everyone else on the Xyron Design Team has made with their DCWV and Xyron goodies!
