If you’re new to needle felting, you’ll need some special supplies. The brush looking thing is a needle felting mat. It supports the thing you’re felting (such as your garment), and it gives your felting needles a place to sink into. The pink thing is a pen-style needle felting tool. It has three needles and is good for small areas and for felting along the edges of your template (such as a cookie cutter). The green one is a larger needle felting tool with more needles and is good for larger areas.
You know those one-dollar stretchy gloves you always see while you’re waiting to check out at the craft store? Grab a few! These are acrylic.
Place a small felting mat inside a glove, and center your cookie cutter in the center of the glove.
Then, stuff the heart with a bit of wool roving. Not too little but not too much either.
Use the pen-style felting tool to push the roving into the glove. Make sure you hold the felting tool straight up and down. Just go in and out, but don’t push the needle to hard into the felting mat. Keep going until the wool has flattened into the glove.
Remove the cookie cutter and you should have the beginnings of your heart shape. You can either keep using the pen-style tool to further felt the wool or switch to the wider tool.
Repeat with the other glove.
To set your wool design, spritz with some water and iron.
All done with my easy DIY needle felted gloves. Make a bunch and give them as gifts to keep all of your friends and family warm and cozy all winter long.
